About FW Delta

Infrastructure you own without the vendor risk.

Most companies do not own their most important systems. They rent them, and only notice at renewal how expensive that was. We build the opposite: systems that belong to your company, running on infrastructure you control, handed over with everything you need to keep them running. Source code, documentation, deployment. Projects across the DACH region and Switzerland.

Positioning

Why FW Delta exists.

Renting your core systems is convenient, right up to the moment it isn't. You pay for features you never use, you wait on roadmaps for the ones you need, and your data ends up scattered across a dozen systems. Every renewal is a price negotiation you cannot win, because the dependency is the actual product.

FW Delta is a software engineering boutique. We build production-ready systems, hand over the complete source code, and make sure your team can run them without us. No lock-in, no licence traps. The decisive difference is not the price, it is who owns the system in the end.

That carries through to the balance sheet: subscription fees are spend that is simply gone, while software you own may, depending on the accounting standard and the actual use, meet the recognition criteria for an intangible asset (IAS 38). Over three years the total cost typically lands 60 to 75 percent below a comparable SaaS stack in our own model calculations, and what you are left with is an asset instead of a notice period.

How we work

Boutique does not mean small here, it means undiluted. Architecture, quality and handover sit with the person who also makes the decisions; for implementation we bring in specialised developers depending on the project. You talk to the person who designs the system and answers for it, not to an account manager who forwards your question and offers you a slot in the calendar.

Every project ends with source code, documentation and a training session, not with a login and an invoice. What we build should still be maintainable in three years by someone who was not in the room today.

“If you cannot teach a system, you have not understood it. That is why every project ends with source code, documentation and a training session, not with a login and an invoice.”

Ownership beats rent.

Systems built to your requirements, running on infrastructure you control, handed over with everything you need to keep them going. Infrastructure you own. Costs that shrink. And an advantage nobody can take away from you when the contract ends.

Working principles

What we hold ourselves to.

01

Ownership creates control.

If you rent your core infrastructure, you hand vendors control over your competitive advantage. We build assets that can qualify for capitalisation where the IAS 38 criteria are met and that strengthen your balance sheet, instead of recurring expenses that weaken it.

02

Simplicity compounds.

Software turns into bloatware over time. The only cure is consistent reduction: delete unnecessary code, remove middleware, build direct connections. Performance and maintainability come from simplicity, not from complexity.

03

Engineering first, upsell never.

We do not optimise for retainer terms or recurring revenue, but for the outcome you brought us in for. And we say so when something is not worth doing. No sales layer between you and the person writing the architecture.

Delivery model

Six steps, no black box.

The same sequence on every project. So you always know what is happening right now, what comes next, and what you hold in your hands at the end.

01

Audit

What is running today, what it costs, and where the system actually breaks.

02

Requirements analysis

Written down and agreed before a single line of code has to be defended.

03

Architecture

Data model, interfaces, and operating environment, chosen for your case rather than for a vendor roadmap.

04

Build and test

Implementation with documented tests and explicit handling of edge cases.

05

Deployment

Reproducible rollout on infrastructure you control, monitoring included.

06

Documentation and training

Handover session, written documentation, and a team that can keep going without us.

Who is behind it

One point of contact who carries the decisions.

FW Delta was founded by Fabian Weiss. Since November 2023 he has been holding technical responsibility in parallel as Interim CTO for a Swiss B2B marketing and consulting firm: system architecture, a complete lead and CRM platform, and the management of several ads accounts. The client's name is covered by a non-disclosure agreement.

Before that came responsibility for IT and customer operations in the customer service organisation of a premium car manufacturer, covering seven specialist departments and the essential parts of day-to-day IT. That is where you learn where systems really break: not in the architecture diagram, but on the Monday morning when a process stalls and nobody can say which tool currently holds the leading data.

On the side he teaches AI, marketing and automation in professional education. That is not a coincidence, it is method: what can be taught can also be handed over.

Under the Hood

Radical transparency. Radical performance.

The work is the argument, not the self-description: readable code, an architecture that keeps decisions traceable, and systems that in three years someone other than the person who built them can still maintain.

Instead of reselling cloud services with a markup, the infrastructure runs on Hetzner bare metal in data centres certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022, with data held in Germany. That decides three things at once: data sovereignty, latency, and the running costs you end up carrying.

Beyond the day-to-day stack there is the engineering background: distributed online architectures, high-concurrency design, low-level SDKs in C++, network protocols and memory management, the kind of work that decides whether a system holds up under real load.
